consider your home when they drive up to the curb.  It is helpful to give special attention to the landscaping and exterior condition of your home...

 

q Grass and shrubbery should be neat and trimmed

q Exterior should look clean

q Sidewalks swept and free of litter

q If it has snowed, clear the driveway and walks

q Toys, etc... should be kept off the front lawn

q Gutters should be clean

q Seasonal flowers planted in prominent areas add visual appeal

 

Preparing the Interior of Your Home:  The same careful attention should be given to the inside of your home.  You want buyers to see your home at its best!

 

q Interior walls should be clean

q Rooms should appear clean and uncluttered

q All lighting should have fresh bulbs

q Doors should open smoothly

q Garage should be clean and uncluttered

q Furnace and air conditioner should be checked and areas cleaned

 

Presenting Your Home to Buyers:  After you have prepared your home to look its best, you can add some last-minute touches before Buyers walk through your property...

 

q Remove pets to a separate area...

q Open draperies and shades...

q Open interior doors (except closets)...

q Turn on all interior lights... day or night

q Turn on exterior lights at night

q Turn on soft music

q Light aromatic candles or have the fireplace going

q Remove jewelry, money, and other valuables to a safe place...

q Be away from the home for showings so that Buyers are relaxed!
